Acquisition of two Fortaco units will be finalized – Machining expert Komas strengthens its position as a significant subcontracting partner

 

On 6 July 2016, Komas Oy and Fortaco Oy announced the business acquisition involving the transfer of Fortaco Oy’s Härmä and Sastamala machining businesses to Komas Oy. The closing date for the acquisition is now confirmed as 1 April 2017. With the acquisition, Komas wants to strengthen its position as the leading subcontractor for machining services in Finland. Fortaco will become a minority shareholder for Komas. The parties do not disclose the purchase price.

Komas’s recipe for a successful subcontractor is clear: faster response and delivery time, 100 % quality, flexible capacity utilization, agility in adapting to customer’s needs and effective introduction of new products.

“New units strengthen our already broad and versatile service portfolio, especially in machining of shafts and bigger prismatic constructions”, says Penttinen.

With the acquisition, turnover of Komas will increase to approximately EUR 45 million. The number of personnel will increase with 110 persons, amounting to approximately 330 persons. The personnel will be transferred to Komas as old employees.
